Meet Christina...
Dr. Christina Jackson, DAHM, EAMP, LAc (she/her) is an acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, teacher, and researcher. She has practiced acupuncture in Issaquah Washington since 1995 and expanded in fall of 2021 to serve patients in the Tacoma. Her general practice frequently treats difficult chronic medical problems including chronic pain syndromes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disorders, endocrine imbalances, digestive issues and other internal medical issues. In addition, she has specialized training and clinical interest in obstetrics and gynecology including: all stages of pregnancy, postpartum, PMS, menstrual pain, fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, ovarian cysts, HPV, cervical dysplasia, and menopausal issues. She especially enjoys the challenge of complex cases.
Christina spends significant time with each patient collecting a detailed history and discussing how diet, nutrition, exercise, lifestyle factors, and acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine can help their specific situation from the East Asian medical perspective. Christina will coordinate care with other medical providers whenever it will benefit the patient. Acupuncture, nutrition, and Chinese herbal medicine are her primary healing tools. To this end, Christina has spent many years learning and refining the use of Chinese herbs which she prescribes in liquid extract, powder, or pill form.
In 1998, Christina became the first Seattle area acupuncturist to practice in a fertility clinic setting alongside reproductive endocrinologists. Since that time, she has taught courses on treating complicated cases with Chinese herbal medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics in clinical and academic settings to both acupuncture students and clinicians. Currently she is a faculty member of the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM) and an Affiliate Clinical Faculty and doctoral lecturer at Bastyr University. She also provides mentorship to students and new practitioners.
Christina is a member of the Washington State East Asian Medical Association and is board certified by The National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists (NCCAOM) in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. She completed her studies in Acupuncture and Chinese herbology from The Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 1995, and later completed her Doctoral Degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in 2020 at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. Her continuing research focuses on the use of Acupuncture in hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and preeclampsia., and developing a data collection tool for acupuncture and high risk pregnancy.
