Our Unique Approach
Research shows preconception planning is best begun three months prior to attempting pregnancy. The lifestyle of parents during this time affects not only egg quality, ovulation, and implantation, but also the development of their future child. Environmental, lifestyle, health, and age factors prior to conception also affect the quantity and quality of sperm in the same way. For this reason, couples are encouraged to work together on their health, regardless of fertility diagnosis. We include the following in our assessment and treatment:
- Acupuncture and herbal treatment for optimal fertility.
- Menstrual cycle regularity
- Hormonal balance
- Reducing exposure to environmental toxins that may affect fertility
- Helping couples identify fertility indicators and timing for natural intercourse
- Reviewing lifestyle and environmental factors affecting the health and fertility
- Identifying individualized nutrition and supplement needs for optimal fertility
- Symptom management during physician-supervised withdrawal from depression or other medications prior to conception
- Preparation and support for IVF/IUI cycles if needed
- Referral and coordination of care with fertility specialist
